OPINION: March Madness mascot championship playoffs title announcing the new name and icon change for ‘University Ole Southern California’

It’s been brought to my attention that there is a Gaucho Pride problem college-wide as the administration has banded the icon of the Gauchos to be produced any more on the Saddleback College campus.

In my opinion the Gauchos icon is no worse than the Redskins or the Seminoles Icons of professional and colleges produce on their campus or stadiums. What I do believe is you don’t want to have an icon banded because pressures had administrators forced to remove the mascot off the football team helmets; for one, that shows school spirit.

The other problem is the Saddleback College name which this is used at the high school level in the City of Santa Ana. The Gauchos pride really would like to change this to a much better name that would promote this school.

The last problem that Gaucho pride would like is promoting its campus to include satellite university classes from major schools. As this location is ideal to promote a new coliseum football stadium. Gaucho pride would like to select our new University Ole Southern Cali. and the new mascot the Pterodactyl.

The solution to changing the name to the “University Ole Southern California Pterodactyl” seems to promote this college with Pterodactyl pride than the wide-spread problem of Gaucho pride. The administrators would be glad to pass through quickly to rid the Gauchos pride College wide.

Our new school name as been authorized by the Department of Education as notified the California Community College Athletic Association for the start of January 1, 2016 to terminate Saddleback College in favor of the name University Ole Southern California as the mascot selected in March Madness Mascot playoffs run by Co-Sports Editor Dominic D. Ebel selected the winner Pterodactyl goes into effect April, 1st, 2015
