Air Force technician and 2008 Saddleback graduate Adam Razani was found dead near Holy Jim Trail in Trabuco Canyon on Monday evening after an apparent suicide. Razani was 25.

As reported by the Aliso Viejo Patch, an Orange County Sheriff Department K-9 unit discovered Razani’s body after a large, five-hour search and rescue prompted by Razani’s family filing a missing person’s report after they became concerned with a series of his social media posts.

Earlier Monday, Razani had posted a status on Facebook that read “Life is a trip. Confused….” This post was followed about two hours later with another that read “Forgive me everybody…I’m sorry”. Razani then posted a photo on Instagram of a gun laying on what appeared to be his kneeling thigh in camouflage pants. The photo’s caption read “My final photo”.

Later Monday night, Razani’s father, Mike Razani, made a post on Facebook with Adam’s photo and a message that read “Today, I lost my son Adam Razani in a bad way. I will always love my son. Please give me and my wife some and space to process this bad news. I will talk to you guys later.”

Before Monday, Razani’s Facebook activity suggested he was in good spirits. Razani posted “Kick back. BBQ check. Meat and buns – check. Beers and Champagne. GTG for the sunday.”

Razani graduated from Saddleback in 2008 with a degree in biochemistry. As reported by OC Weekly, Razani enlisted in the Air Force after graduation where he became a technician, was stationed in Afghanistan earlier this year, and went on terminal leave from the Air Force in March.

Razani’s funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo.

For any students that knew Razani or feels in need to speak with someone, counselors and professionals are available in the Saddleback Student Health Center or the Saddleback VETS Center.
