A Transfer Fair will be held at Irvine Valley College where different college representatives will gather for student questions on Oct 18.

It will include a long list of colleges, including Columbia University, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and Cal State Fullerton are just some of many universities that will attend the fair from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

“It gives students a great opportunity to speak to different reps from different colleges,” said Virginia Mackey, Transfer Center specialist at IVC. “It helps students in being able to ask the reps whatever questions that they want.”

On Oct. 19, there is going to be a UC Personal Statement Workshop, where an English professor will help students at the event and give them a chance to ask questions about almost anything, according to Mackey.

Then on Oct. 21, there will be another personal statement workshop from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Another event regarding CSU and UC Application workshops and UC personal statements is from Oct. 19 statement workshop. It gives students a chance on how to sign up for a chance to go to a CSU and UC university.

Mackey also said that it’s great that the students have a choice when it comes to asking reps from different colleges about anything that they want and there is no limit whatsoever.

Coming up on Nov. 15, another Transfer Fair will be happening from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. and later on the same day a UCLA Application Workshop, where. Also a Personal Statement workshop will be happening, where a UCLA rep will be there to answer more questions from students.

Finally , there is Transfer Tuesdays where on every Tuesday at IVC, they have an agreement with Chili’s Restaurant, where if a student hands out a flyer from the transfer event, then they will take 50 percent off of what they spend at Chili’s.
