Time for the Crunch

For those suffering from final exam anxiety, the Library Resource Center Tutoring in LRC 212 has good news: the tutoring service hours will be expanded for the last two weeks of this semester.

The first ever expanded hours initiative, otherwise known as “Crunch Time,” is really just a clever way to give students no excuses for not studying for their finals.

The initiative was made: “to help students, because they need to study,” said Sherri Dadsetan, front desk staff of the LRC Tutoring Center.

This move was done in tandem with the Associated Student Government (ASG). Debby Snyder, a fill-in tutoring center administrative assistant said, “Students were asking for more hours.”

The extended time will include two additional hours added to the weekday schedule, making the week of May 13 to 16 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and four hours will be added onto that Friday’s typical schedule, closing on Friday at 6 p.m.. Also, for the first time, the LRC will be open on Saturday May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m..

However, to prove that even tutors get lonely, the following week May 20 to 22 the Tutoring Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.. These hours are only for the dates mentioned above, and students are told that the Saturday hours are for tutoring only. That means no Facebook on the writing lab computers.

Some of the perks of being a diligent student include: additional study tables being set up, and even snacks will be set out as a trap to lure students into studying.
