Three OC firefighters join Hurricane Sandy relief efforts

Three members of the Orange County Fire Authority have been called by FEMA to join the relief efforts in Washington, DC, Virginia and New Jersey.
These men are all part of the California Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 5, but when summoned by FEMA, they officially become federal employees and members of the FEMA task force.
Rob Patterson is acting as Battalion Chief in Washington, DC at the FEMA office. He assists in all ground rescue efforts.
Brian Gich is operating from Virginia as a Mobilization Specialist handling search crews.
Mark Danielson, a San Clemente resident, is in New Jersey as part of the logistics team that makes sure equipment and tools etc. are available for rescue efforts to function properly.
This type of deployment typically lasts two weeks but could extend out further according to ongoing need.
