The Saddleback College Forensics Team received 7th place at the national community college championship last month while competing against 59 other schools.

There are 18 students on the team, including team leader Lucas Ochoa and co-team director Larry Radden.

According to an article on the website missionviejo.patch.com, President Tod A. Burnett was extremely proud of the forensics team.

“Saddleback’s forensics team is truly phenomenal,” Burnett said, “From the superb performance of our students to the dedication of our talented coaches, it’s been a real pleasure watching our team improve and become a force to be reckoned with.”

The Saddleback Forensics Team attends several tournaments throughout California and across the nation participating in both individual events and debate.

According to the Fine Arts and Media page on saddleback.edu, students are given the chance to better develop innovative arguments for future writing and speaking engagements, to strengthen their critical thinking skills and to better communicate with others.
