Raising awareness for battered women

On Tuesday, April 14, Saddleback College’s Associated Student Government will sponsor an Awareness Day to promote education and awareness concerning abuse of women. The day will feature a panel of speakers, and several non-profit organizations will be on campus to provide free information about their causes to interested students.

Prior to the event, ASG is encouraging students to participate in the Clothesline Project. This project raises awareness of abuse through the artwork of the victims themselves writing their stories on donated T-shirts. Any student wishing to create one of these shirts is welcome to visit the ASG offices in the Student Services Center and then wear the shirt on Awareness Day.

The event takes place in the SSC quad from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
