Professor of the Year nominations being accepted

Professor of the Year 2012 applications are available for submission until Feb. 21 until 5 p.m.

Five instructors will be chosen, one of whom will be from a community college. Each of the five finalists will be awarded up to $15,000.

This award is bestowed by the Orange County Superintendent of Schools and awarded under the Dr. James Hines Foundation, Orange County Teachers of the Year Awards Program.

Any part-time or full-time instructor may be nominated up to two times, and there must be a five-year gap between the nominations.

Allowable nominators include former students of the instructor nominated, other teachers, counselors and administrators who are able to evaluate the classroom effectiveness of the teacher, according to a statement given by the Associated Student Government.
