Homecoming 2009 review

Homecoming 2009 was a family friendly affair that included face painting, a bounce house, and food for friends, family, and alumni.

“We’ve got a good turnout of people coming to enjoy the activities and food before the game,” said Jake Schack, 19, business.

Among the food stands were caramel apples, churros, and Italian ices.

“I’m excited to be here and enjoy the food before the big game,” said Amir Sharifi, 23, business.

Arts and crafts and face painting was available to kids. They jumped and bumped to OCRockRadio in a bounce house.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County representatives were in attendance and gave out candy to those who made donations.

A new club on campus made an appearance, Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society, which promotes community service and an opportunity to earn scholarship money.

“This is a really great opportunity fo
r students who want something impressive on their transcripts”, said Jasmine Singh, 17, biology.

Members must have at least a 3.0 GPA to join and have 12 units completed. Meetings are held Fridays at 12 p.m. in BGS 134.

A special area was available exclusively to members of the President’s club. This was a group of individuals that the school president personally invited to the homecoming game.

“The food over there looked pretty good, but unfortunately I wasn’t a member and couldn’t get in,” said Brittany Harris, 18, nutrition.

The pre-game festivities continued to attract crowds, as it got closer to the game. Students, friends and family left the fair pumped and ready to watch the homecoming game.
