Former Lariat staffer found dead

Former Saddleback College student, Nathanial Vamvas, 24, was found in the Jordan River in Utah Apr. 27 after West Jordan police reported him missing on March 18, according to a ksl.com article.

When South Jordan police recovered the body, there were no signs of foul play and had appeared to be in the river for several weeks.

The article also stated that although there were no visual signs of trauma, West Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Roberts will not rule out any possibilities until the autopsy is preformed, including a toxicology report.

Vamvas was a Lariat staff writer in fall 2010. He is survived by his wife and 8-month-old child.
