As part of welcome back week at Saddleback College, clubs on campus gathered in the main quad to promote their organizations as part of Club Rush on Monday.

Club Rush will run until Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this week. Several clubs were present for the first day of the event, including the International Club, ACLAMO, the Psychology Club, and the Associated Student Government.

Clubs present included The Associated Student Government. The club, which performs tasks including organizing special events on campus for students, offered information and free candy and binders to attract new members. Michael Nepomuceno, a History and Political Science major, was one of two students in charge of attracting new members. Nepmuceno said joining enables students to directly contribute to their campus and also have a greater chance of being accepted to higher level universities including U. C. Berkeley. The club typically meets every Friday at 1:30 p.m.

The International Club, who mentors international students and promotes diversity on campus, was also attempting to attract new members at Club Rush. Sheena Joveni, a business finance major, claims that students should join the International Club in order to make great connections with foreign students living outside of the United States. The International Club meets on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. in room SSC 112.
