ASG to host food drive

Every year as the seasons near the Thanksgiving holiday, the Saddleback Associated Student Government Food Drive Committee members assemble for the annual food drive event.

Although the drive is primarily hosted by the Executive Cabinet branch, Inter-club Council, Senate, and many campus clubs, departments, and offices are donating as well.

“Hopefully this year we will get a lot more food than any other year,” said committee chairperson Krystle Salazar, “so that we can help those that need our help.”

The Food Drive committee also plans to set-up collection tables at a local grocery store to collect donation from community members.

“ASG hopes to have plenty of food to give to the Saddleback College families in need and other charitable agencies,” said Maria Besnard, Director of Student Development. Students can deposit canned and dry goods until Nov. 16 along with monetary donations in Student Services Center Room 207.

The food items that have been collected will be donated to the families of Saddleback EOPS students. The remaining canned goods will be supplied to a charity or community organization. This years charity has not yet been designated.
