Saddleback dominates El Camino, 42-17

The Saddleback College football team went on the road Saturday and destroyed El Camino College, 42-17. The Gauchos outplayed the Warriors immensely in passing game, getting 477 yards compared to ELC’s 216.

The win comes after the Gauchos had lost their first two games to Cerritos College and Riverside City College.

Gauchos sophomore quarterback Johnny Stanton had an outstanding game, throwing for 468 yards and contributing to all five of Saddleback’s total touchdowns.

Stanton had four passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

Saddleback’s defense also caused three turnovers and had many other opportunities to steal the ball from the Warriors.

Sophomore defensive back Zachary Wade led the Gauchos on defense with six tackles, an interception and two tackles for loss.

The Gauchos will play their next game at home against Palomar College at 6 p.m.
on Saturday, Sept. 26.
