Two bestselling authors of young adult fiction, Ellen Hopkins and Sonya Sones, will be at the Mission Viejo Civic Center on Thursday at 7 p.m. to talk about their new books.
Hopkins, a #1 New York Times author, will be speaking about her new book, “Smoke,” the 10th young adult book she has written since her first novel, “Crank,” was released in 2004.
Hopkins’ books deal with the intense struggles of young adults, including the topics of sexuality, drug abuse, physical harm and thoughts of suicide.
Sones has written four award winning young adult novels, the latest being “To Be Perfectly Honest,” which she will be presenting tomorrow night. Sones also writes novels that deal with the heavy -and often taboo – subjects of teen depression, abuse and thoughts of suicide.
The two authors will have copies of their books for sale and will autograph copies purchased on site.
They will be in the Mission Viejo City Council Chamber at
200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo.
