TED Tuesdays kicks off at noon on Feb. 4 in SSC 212 with Photo Greater Than 1000: Angelo Merendino at TEDxUSU.

Angelo Merendino’s heart-felt photo-documentary, The Battle We Didn’t Choose — My Wife’s Fight With Breast Cancer, hoped to capture more than just the illness of his wife Jennifer.

“Our hope was that these photographs would offer people a more realistic view of life with cancer.” Merendino said. “Since Jennifer passed in 2011 these photographs—our love story—have been vital to my accepting Jennifer’s death, embracing my own mortality, and finding peace within myself.”

In 18 minutes or less, TED Talks are meant to powerfully grasp the attention and emotion of people around the globe. What started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design, TED Talks are now internationally recognized and viewed by many.

“We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.”
