‘Little Shop of Horrors’ thirsts for attention
The curtain is about to fall on September, and October, identified as the month of ghoulish scare, will transfix eyes with the appropriately themed “Little Shop of Horrors.”
“Little Shop of Horrors,” a hit musical after the popular 1960’s cult comedy classic, was remade in 1986. With all of these different versions, it is fathomable to see how people are aware of the synthesis.
This play focuses on Seymour Krelboin, a floral assistant who acquires a peculiar bloodthirsty plant. Due to his plant’s human blood cravings, Seymour is pressured to kill people. Saddleback College’s adaptation of this dark horrific comedy welcomes everyone to attend.
“I don’t have to do a lot of promotions for this play,'” said Public Information Officer Division of Fine Arts Nina Welch. “I know that because it’s already almost sold out.”
Even though this musical had an open audition, all of the actors are now students.
“All these actors are really excited,” Welch said. ” The two leads, AJ and Linsey were in ‘Rocky Horror [Picture Show]’ last year. They weren’t as big as the leads, but they had important parts; they had to sing.”
“Little Shop of Horrors will be shown in the Studio Theater, Fine Arts 308, on Oct. 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 at 8 p.m. And matinee showings will be available on Oct. 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $13 general admission, $12 students and seniors, and $9 for Saddleback students with a current ASG card.
