Angels for the Arts to put on Big Band fundraiser.

The Angels for the Arts present The Big Band Swing Thing tonight from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Center in Mission Viejo. Dancers have been working hard to show off their swing dancing skills within their themed teams. Joey Sellers and the Saddleback College Big Band will be providing 1940’s swing era music for this dance party fundraiser for student scholarships and arts programs. There will be plenty of opportunity drawings and festivities including food and beverages will be donated from Sundried Tomato of San Juan Capistrano, Pacific Highway Wines, Ricardo’s Place of San Juan Capistrano, and Dolce Gelato of Laguna Beach.

Saddleback Dance supervisors Lacey Yell Pattison and Marji Himes will each have a themed piece at the Big Band Swing Thing. Pattison’s piece is a tennis theme, and will be performed to the song, “It Don’t Mean a Thing If You Ain’t Got That Swing.” Her team will swing dance with rackets. Himes’ theme will be April In Paris where the team will dance in French, red beret hats, and black and white striped dresses.
